Anvil Awards open Marriott Grand Ballroom in Resorts World Manila

The Marriott Grand Ballroom (MGB) in Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) Newport City opened to a prestigious event that is the Public Relations Society of the Philippines’ (PRSP) 50th Anvil Awards’ “Gabi Ng Parangal” to honor the most stellar crop of public relations practitioners in the country.
MGB is a four-storey convention center that is set to break records in terms of size and function with its potential to accommodate 2,500 people for sit-down events and 5,000 guests for theater engagements within its various rooms and establishments.
For the 50th Anvil Awards, a total of 417 entries were screened and trimmed by jurors to the winning circle of 101. There are 41 multi-sector jurors with Secretary Cayetano Paderanga as Chairman and Dr. Emerlinda Roman as Vice Chairperson at the helm.
Among the big winners during the event were Resorts World Manila partner Megaworld Lifestyle Malls which bagged two awards including a silver award under the PR tools – Special Events category for “St. John Paul Canonization: Celebrating Our Most Beloved Pope”, an event held in Eastwood City last April 2014.
The company also received a Gold Award under the same category for “Children’s Theater” at the Eastwood Mall in recognition of its efforts to encourage children and the general public and raise interest for Filipino theater.
More large-scale and world-class events are expected to happen at the MGB with its first-rate Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, and Exhibitions (MICE) accommodation features that are truly at par with world-class standards.
