Impressions scores ‘Best Restaurant’ hat trick

Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) French fine dining restaurant Impressions adds another entry to its list of laurels when it recently received the 2015 Best Restaurant Award from the Beefsteak & Burgundy Club. It is the restaurant’s third consecutive year to earn the recognition, an unprecedented achievement throughout the club’s tenure in the country.
“Impressions has been consistently fantastic. We’ve been going on about eight years now as a club (in Manila) and we’ve had other restaurants receive the award but winning it three out of eight is pretty good,” John Casey, President of the Beefsteak & Burgundy Club said. “When you combine high-quality service with a head chef that has the ability to create something that all of our members really enjoy, something really special, that’s it.”
Under the leadership of RWM’s Director for Culinary Arts Chef Cyrille Soenen, Impressions has built a reputation as one of the top restaurants in the country boasting a rare ‘Perfect 10’ or ‘very best’ rating in food, setting, wine, and service by Asia Tatler Dining and being shortlisted in the Miele Asian guide book of the best restaurants in 18 Asian countries. Chef Cyrille also distinguished himself among his peers as the first and only chef in the Philippines to be accorded by the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France (Master Chefs of France).
Impressions was voted by the club’s members who rate top restaurants based on the quality of the food, wine, service, and overall value for money. “We always try to do better by bringing in new things and new techniques, something that can wow our diners. That’s what I like to do, that’s the beauty of it,” Chef Cyrille said. “We have to follow what’s happening with the world. The taste doesn’t just have to be good, it has to be fantastic.”
Also known as The Foundation Club, the first Beefsteak and Burgundy Club was established in 1954 and has since grown in Australia and overseas. The club’s local chapter is composed of members from different parts of the globe including Australia, New Zealand, England, Austria, Switzerland, Chile, Spain, America, Canada, among others.
