The Academy for Leisure and Tourism (ALT), the education arm of Newport World Resorts, has launched a scholarship program to identify and support high-potential individuals who are committed to building a career in the leisure and tourism industry.

Under the program, qualified applicants may be awarded either a full or partial scholarship grant. The grants will be based on the applicant’s overall performance and assessment results.

Selection process

Newport World Resorts’ education arm Academy for Leisure and Tourism (ALT) partners with the Department of Education (DepEd) for Enhanced Work Immersion Program. The integrated resort signed the Accession Agreement for the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Enhanced Work Immersion Program, formally joining a national pilot initiative led by DepEd in partnership with the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) and the Private Sector Jobs and Skills Corporation (PCORP).

Mark the year’s first moments with The Macallan A Night on Earth: The First Light masterclass at The Whisky Library. The home to Manila’s largest whisky collection opens the year with a dedicated Macallan masterclass anchored on A Night on Earth: The First Light, a limited-edition single malt inspired by the first sunrise of the year. Taking place on January 21, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the masterclass is guided by The Macallan brand expert Hans Eckstein and is designed as an exploration of how time, place, and tradition shape whisky.
