Four distinctive dining experiences across Newport World Resorts remain on the country’s MICHELIN dining map. Yamazato, Man Ho, CRU Steakhouse, and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Philippines retained their MICHELIN Selected distinctions during the ceremony held on October 29 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, marking the second consecutive year that the destination hosted the Philippine MICHELIN Guide ceremony.
Yamazato explores Japanese dining through kaiseki, sushi, teppanyaki, and shabu-shabu, with seasonality guiding its menus. Man Ho draws from Cantonese tradition through dim sum, roasted specialties, double-boiled soups, and seafood.
CRU Steakhouse brings premium cuts into focus through careful sourcing and precise preparation. Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Philippines carries the British chef’s signature approach through dishes such as Beef Wellington and the Bar & Grill Seafood Tower.
MICHELIN Selected restaurants are establishments recognized by the Guide’s inspectors for the quality of their cooking. Evaluations are conducted anonymously according to five universal criteria: the quality of ingredients, harmony of flavors, mastery of technique, the personality expressed through the cuisine, and consistency across visits.
The distinctions reflect the breadth of the dining portfolio at Newport World Resorts and the work of the chefs, service teams, and hospitality professionals behind every restaurant. They join the wider presence of the destination in the MICHELIN Guide, which includes One MICHELIN Key for Hotel Okura Manila and the inclusion of Manila Marriott Hotel in the Guide’s hotel selection.

“An occasion of this significance is shaped by every part of the guest experience, from the first welcome at Yawaragi to the final reveal at the Marriott Grand Ballroom. Hosting the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony for a second year allowed Newport World Resorts to bring those moments together within one destination. The continued inclusion of our four restaurants made the evening especially meaningful, recognizing the skill and consistency of the teams who give each dining experience its character,” said Newport World Resorts Senior Vice President for Marketing Michelle Christine Suarez.
A MOMENT OF CELEBRATION
The MICHELIN Guide Ceremony celebrated the chefs, restaurants, and teams contributing to the continued growth of the Philippine dining scene.
The occasion unfolded across Newport World Resorts through a sequence of experiences, each with its own scale and character. It began with a welcome lunch at Yawaragi in Hotel Okura Manila before guests moved to the Marriott Grand Ballroom, where the Guide unveiled a 2027 selection comprising 127 establishments from Manila and its environs and Cebu. The tasting pavilion then shifted the evening from recognition to discovery. Philippine and international chefs showcased their dishes, allowing guests to experience the cooking behind the names celebrated onstage. Newport World Resorts also presented a dedicated booth where Yamazato, Man Ho, CRU Steakhouse, and Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Philippines served some of their standout dishes.
AFTER HOURS
The celebration continued at The Whisky Library, where recognized chefs and members of the culinary community raised a glass to the evening’s distinctions over drinks, music, and conversation.
The celebration continued at The Whisky Library, where MICHELIN-recognized chefs and members of the culinary community gathered for an afterparty. Drinks, music, and conversation carried the celebration into the night, bringing the occasion to a fitting close.
From the first course at Yawaragi to the ceremony, tasting pavilion, and final pour at The Whisky Library, Newport World Resorts delivered the occasion as one connected experience. Its three-story convention center, the country’s largest hotel ballroom, five international hotel brands, diverse dining venues, and coordinated event teams allowed each chapter to unfold within a single destination.
