Newport World Resorts’ Academy for Leisure and Tourism rolls out scholarship program
January 20, 2026
The Academy for Leisure and Tourism (ALT), the education arm of Newport World Resorts, has launched a scholarship program to identify and support high-potential individuals who are committed to building a career in the leisure and tourism industry.
Under the program, qualified applicants may be awarded either a full or partial scholarship grant. The grants will be based on the applicant’s overall performance and assessment results.
Selection process
Scholars will be selected through a scoring and evaluation process, such as Admissions Interview, Admissions Exam, and Financial Need Assessment. The interview will assess communication skills, motivation, professionalism, and alignment with the hospitality and tourism program, while the exam will measure academic preparedness, reasoning, and general aptitude. The financial need assessment will prioritize applicants from low-income families with limited financial support.
Applicants who are accepted into the program are required to complete the scholarship application form and submit the necessary requirements. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a final interview with the scholarship committee before the results of the scholarship grant are released.
New batch and upcoming programs
ALT is set to start classes for the new batch on January 26. In addition to its TESDA-accredited Food and Beverage Services NC II program, ALT will roll out new programs in Housekeeping, Culinary, and Casino Dealing, further expanding its training portfolio to address the evolving needs of the hospitality industry. Classes will be held at the Academy for Leisure and Tourism on the 2nd Floor of Horizon Centre, Newport World Resorts.
World-class training experience
The program fee of Php 35,000 provides comprehensive training benefits, including access to modern facilities, professional uniforms, training kits, and hands-on instruction in live hospitality settings.
Students also undergo on-the-job training with direct exposure to operations within Newport World Resorts’ international hotel brands Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts, Hotel Okura Manila at Newport World Resorts, Hilton Manila Newport World Resorts, Sheraton Manila Hotel at Newport World Resorts, and Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport World Resorts.
ALT’s scholarship program reflects Newport World Resorts’ commitment to nation-building by equipping aspiring professionals with industry-aligned training and preparing them for careers in the hospitality sector.
